For over 50 years, Shelter Care has been dedicated to helping youth and families navigate life’s toughest challenges. Whether through safe housing, counseling, or community support, our mission is to provide healing, restore hope, and recognize the value of young people and families.

Our Programs
At Shelter Care, our programs are designed to meet children, youth, and families where they are—offering safety, support, and a path forward.
Street Outreach Services
SOS provides street based and drop-in services to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth ages 16-24 to assist them in securing safe, stable housing.
Respite Care
The Respite Care Program provides planned periods of respite for up to four days to strengthen and keep families together.
The Highlands
The Highlands provides critical services to homeless and at-risk pregnant or parenting teens, ages 14-18, and their babies.
Safe Landing Youth Shelter
Safe Landing Youth Shelter provides crisis and emergency services to youth ages 11-17.
Shelter Home Program
The Shelter Home Program provides long-term residential care for boys, ages 11-18.
Outpatient Counseling
Outpatient Counseling provides high quality, individualized, mental health services to individuals, families, and couples.
Our History
Dave Fair founded Shelter Care in the fall of 1972, but those who knew and loved him would tell you his heart was in this agency well before it was established.
